Gospel of John Chapter 6

In this powerful and pivotal chapter, Jesus reveals Himself as the true source of life. The episode opens with one of His most famous miracles: feeding a crowd of five thousand with just five loaves and two fish. The people are amazed, but Jesus slips away, refusing to be made king by force.

As evening falls, the disciples set out across the Sea of Galilee—only to be caught in rough waters. Jesus approaches them in a way they never expect: walking on the water, calming both the storm and their fear.

The next day, the crowds track Jesus down, hungry for more signs. Instead, He offers them something deeper: “I am the bread of life.” What follows is one of His most challenging teachings, pushing listeners to consider what it truly means to believe in Him. Many walk away, but Peter speaks for the faithful few: “Lord, to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life.”

Hello. This is Dale's podcast, Love Thy Neighbour Ministries. I just want to give a big thanks to everyone that's still tuning in, that's still listening. Thank you so much. We are now at the Gospel of John, chapter six, and we're just going to read and we're going to go through it bit by bit again, section by section, as we did doing the last one. I think it just it just helps. This is this is going to be a big episode. We've got in total sixty five verses to go through. Why do I want to read this first? Well, I think it's really going to marry up to what we are going to read. So let us just go to Exodus chapter sixteen. Those of you that are following along, I will give you a moment just to find that chapter, and it's Exodus chapter sixteen, and we're going to go from verse one. Title The Lord Provides Mannor. Then they set out from Elim, and all the congregations of the sons of Israel came to the wilderness of sin, which is between Elam and Sinai. On the fifteenth day of the second month after their departure from the land of Egypt, the whole congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. The sons of Israel said to them, Would that we had died by the Lord's hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate the bread to the full, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger. Then the Lord said to Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them. Whether or not they will walk in my instruction, on the sixth day when they prepare what they bring in, it will be twice as much as they gather daily. So Moses and Aaron said to all the sons of Israel, At evening you will know that the Lord has brought you out of the land of Egypt, and in the morning you will see the glory of the Lord, for years your grumblings against the Lord, and what are we that you grumble against us? The Lord provides meat. Moses said, This will happen when the Lord gives you meat to eat in the evening and bread to the full in the morning, for the Lord hears your grumblings which you grumble against him, and what are we? Your grumblings are not against us but against the Lord. Then Moses said to Aaron, Say to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, Come near before the Lord, for he has heard your grumblings. It came about as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the sons of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold the glory of the Lord appeared in the clouds. And the Lord said spoke to Moses, saying, I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Israel speak to them, saying, At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread, and you shall know that I am the Lord your God. Amen. Let us just ponder on those verses for a while, and it is going to marry up. So let us turn back to the Gospel of John, chapter six, and carry on with our series. Chapter six five thousand fed. After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, or Tiberius. A large crowd followed him because they saw the signs which he was performing on those who were sick. Then Jesus went up to the mountain, and there he sat down with his disciples. Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews was near. Therefore, Jesus lifting up his eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming to him, said to Philip, Where are we to buy bread so that these may eat? This he was saying to test him, for he himself knew what he was intending to do. Philip answered him, two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, for everyone to receive a little. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him, There is a lad here who has five body loaves and two fish. But what are these for so many people? Jesus said, Have the people sit down. Now there was much grass in this place, in the place. So the men sat down in number, about five thousand. Jesus then look took the loaves, and having given thanks, he distributed to those who were seated, likewise also of the fish as much as they wanted. When they were filled, he said to his disciples, gather up the leftover fragments, so that nothing will be lost. So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragr fragments from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. Therefore, when the people saw the sign which he had performed, they said, This is truly the prophet who is to come into the world. So here we see in this chapter, a large crowd followed him because they saw the signs which he was performing on those who were sick. You know, Jesus' reputation went so far wide that you know there were five thousand people come to see Jesus. Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near. Very significant, especially for later. We we hear about that in just um well a few more verses. We have to hold on for that bit, but just remember that. Therefore, Jesus, lifting up his eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming to him, said to Philip, and now I absolut I love this bit, I love it, because here he's testing one of his disciples, where are we to buy bread so that these may eat? And and the writer it, John writes it so beautifully, this he was saying to test him, for he himself knew what he was intending to do. And sometimes don't we have those conversations with God? Can't we sit there in a dark room sometimes? I know I do. I I love to pray in secret, I love to p pray in enclosed rooms where it's just me and God, and especially you know, that there's something happening. Five thousand people is is turned up, and Jesus turns to Philip and says, Where are we to buy bread so that these may eat? To be asked such a question, you know, you you know what we've got in the money purse, probably about 200 denarius. Um, you know, and and Philip answered him and said, '200 denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them for everyone to receive a little, you know. So that that's how much he's got in the bank, he's got about two hundred denarii, and he's thinking to himself, how on earth, Jesus asking me, how on earth are we are we to to solve this problem? Now, we come to God humbly in our times of trouble, and right here Philip must have been facing a time of trouble uh to be asked such a question. But Jesus asked him testing him, you know, and and God loves to test us so that we look back towards God for the answer. For we can't do nothing on ourselves in our own strength, everything must be in the strength of God, especially in times like these. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him, There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these for so many people? So here Andrew, Peter's brother, or Simon Peter's brother, is coming up with a solution. You know, there's a lad here with five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these for so many people? You know, what are these for so many people? And he's looking back at Jesus for the answer, and you know, what what faith, what faith Andrew must have is he's seeing our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ perform so many miracles, his faith is almost like you know, this ain't too big for the Lord, you know that Jesus has this, Jesus knows what's going on. And Jesus says, Have the people sit down. Now there was much grass in the place, so the men sat down in number about five thousand. Jesus then took the loaves, and having give thanks, he distributed to those who were seated, likewise also of the fish as much as they wanted. Jesus gave thanks. Jesus had the people sit down and he distributed bread after bread, fish after f fish, as much as they wanted. You see, notice how in the first section I read from the book of Exodus, and I did that for a reason, because the Lord provides, the Lord Yahweh provides. He did in Exodus with the sons of Israel, there was walking around in in a desert place, and the sons of Israel were grumbling, you know. They they even said Um the whole gong congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. The sons of Israel said to them, Would that we had died by the Lord's hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill the whole assembly with hunger. What did the Lord God do? What what grace, mercy did he show to the sons of Israel? He gave manna from heaven. He provided meat. I would have gave you meat also if you just asked. You know, they they were grumbling, grumbling, thinking, Wow, you you brought us out here to to die of hunger. This section, this this passage here is showing that the Lord provides. When they were filled, he said to his disciples, gather up the left over fragments, so that nothing will be lost. So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. Wow, let's just dissect what's happened here. Why is it that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ did not want any leftovers, nothing to go to waste? Now there's some scholars and theologians and historical commentaries point out several profound spiritual symbolic um reasons for keeping the leftovers. One, you know, proof of a miracle, two, symbolism, uh, because of the twelve baskets, three, demonstrating God's abundance, a model for stewardship, sharing with others, and so on and so on. But let's have a look into the the proof of the miracle. You know, to keep the leftovers is absolutely undeniable proof, um, and tangible evidence that the crowd had been truly and miraculously filled. It proved that the miracle was not an illusion or a case of a mass psychological trickery. The disciples physically collected and held the excess bread, and it reinforces the reality of what Jesus just has done. As we keep reading, you know, the crowds followed him. Not because of the miracle, because of being fed, but we read about that in just a moment. You know, the the symbolism of the twelve baskets, can it be that the twelve baskets represent the twelve tribes of Israel? Is it symbology that Jesus came to completely satisfy and provide for the entirety of God's chosen people? The twelve tribes of Israel. You know, also with these baskets, there were there was one for each disciple. You know, does this act as a direct lesson for the men who would be sent out to build the early church, reminding them that Jesus would always provide for their needs. When they're in the darkest place, when they're in the lowest place, Jesus would always provide for their needs. It's it's really something something to think about as well. This miracle right here demonstrates God's abundance. Leftovers show that God is not just a minimal provider, but a God of overflowing abundance. He gave excess and demonstrated his grace upon grace, mercy upon mercy, that when Jesus provides there is always more than enough to go around. Hallelujah. Let us carry on because I'm I'm really excited now. We're we're we're getting into this, absolutely getting into this. So verse 15 Jesus walks on the water. So Jesus, perceiving that they were intending to come and take him by force to make him king, withdrew again to the mountain by himself alone. Now when evening came his disciples went down to the sea, and after getting into a boat they started to cross the sea to Capane Capernaum. It had already become dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing. Then when they had rowed about three or four miles they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat, and they were frightened. But he said to them, It is I, do not be afraid. So they were willing to receive him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going. The next day the crowd that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other small boat there, except one, and that Jesus had not entered with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples had gone away alone. There came other small boats from Tiberius near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks. So when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the small boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus. When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, Rabbi, when did you get here? Well carry on reading words to the people. Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly I say to you, you seek me not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on him the Father, God has set his seal. Therefore they said to him, What shall we do so that we may work the works of God? Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent. So they said to him, What then do you do for a sign, so that we may see and believe you? What work do you perform? Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it was written He gave them bread out of heaven to eat. Jesus then said to them, Truly, truly I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is my father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. Hallelujah. For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world. Then they said to him, Lord, always give us this bread. Jesus said to him, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not hunger, and he who believes in me will never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet you yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will certainly not cast out, for I have come down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. This is the will of him who sent me that of all that he has given me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day, for this is the will of my Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in him will have eternal life, and I myself will raise him up on the last day. Hallelujah Awesome, so let's let's get into it. Let's let's go back. Jesus walks on the water. Verse 18 The sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing. Then when they had rowed about three or four miles they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat, and they were frightened. And when you read that, you think, Wow, what is the significance of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ walking on the water? Jesus was the word who became flesh and manifested with us. Without the word, nothing came into being. Jesus was showing his deity, he was walking on that water because of who he was. Now, previously we read in Exodus, and many of you will know, many of you won't, because you haven't read it yet, but many of you will know. Well, all of you must know that Moses parted the Red Sea and walked through it. And later on, Joshua, who took over from Moses, parted the sea to get to Jericho, and we and we see these mighty men that God uses part in the sea. Jesus walked on the sea, and it brings me to a verse that my wife showed me actually in the book of Job, and it's just so amazing. Job chapter nine, is it chapter nine? Chapter nine, verse eight. Who alone stretches out the heavens and tramples down the waves of the sea? I'll tell you something. There is no other man in the Bible, unless you can prove me wrong, that walked on water. Only Jesus did it, proving proving his data. And I love this. In other gospels, it said they shouted and were afraid because they thought they seen a ghost. Um and Jesus says, It is I, do not be afraid. And after that, when they recognized it was him, they received him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going. Later on in in verse twenty-five, when they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, Rabbi, when did you get here? And these are the words Jesus spoke, and we'll just break these down. Um Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek me not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Guys, I'll tell you the truth, brothers and sisters, if there was a man that fed me, you know, and five thousand others a free meal from five loaves and two fish, I would follow him as well. He, you know, he filled me, he filled this belly, this flesh. Belly of mine, but then Jesus says, Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life. Which brings us back to Exodus, because when the manna from heaven was given, you know, Moses would collect it in the jars, um, but it would. The reason why God had to send the manna every single day, because at the end of the day it would waste away. And Jesus said, Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him the Father God has set his seal. Hallelujah. The most satisfying thing we could ever do is serve the Lord. He keeps us from hunger and he keeps us from thirsting for righteousness because he fills us, you know, portion after portion, grace after grace, mercy, and it's just a wonderful thing what he's saying here. Therefore they said to him, What shall we do so that we may work the works of God? You know, they've clicked on it, they have clicked on and listened to what Jesus is saying, far greater the work we shall do for food which perishes, but let us work for the food which endures to eternal life. Jesus answered, said to them, This is a work of God that you believe in him, whom he has sent. Wow. This is the work of God that you believe in him whom he has sent. So they said to him, What then do you do for a sign so that we may see and believe you? What work do you perform? Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it is written, He gave them bread out of heaven to eat. Jesus then said to them, Truly, truly I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is my father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes out of heaven and gives life to the world. Then they said to him, Lord, always give us this bread and hallelujah, may he always sustain us, giving us bread each and every day, because without it we become spiritually flat, without it we become spiritually dry, without it we hunger, a great hunger. Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life, he who comes to me will not hunger, and he who believes in me will never thirst. Remember what he said to the Samaritan woman, um I believe it was chapter four in the book of John. I am the living water. All who believes in me will never thirst. Wow, give me that water, Lord, so I will never thirst. You know, we went through it in chapter four, and this is what he's saying. The my wife told me there's seven I ams, Jesus says. But I said to you in verse 36 that you have seen me and yet you do not believe. There's a blessing for all of us, guys, because we haven't we haven't seen Jesus in the flesh. Um these people did, and yet they did not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will certainly not cast out. There is assurance in our salvation, brothers and sisters, that all those that come to Jesus He will not He will certainly, certainly not cast out, for I have come down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent me. This is the will of Him who sent me, that of all that He has given me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who beholds a Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I myself will raise him up on the last day. Guys, we do not die. Death has been conquered through Jesus Christ. This is the good news that all who believes will have eternal life, and we shall be raised up on the last day, having life eternal, shedding this body of mortal and putting on that body of immortality. Hallelujah. Let us let us carry on. Words to the Jews Verse 41. Therefore the Jews were grumbling about him because he said, I am the bread that came out of heaven. I'll just stop there quickly. Another thing when the Israelites asked Moses who God was, what did God say? I am who I am. So every time you hear Jesus saying, I am, he's referring to he and the father are one, and he says this later, but yeah, I am the bread that came down out of heaven. They were saying, Is not this Jesus, a son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say I have come down out of heaven? Jesus answered and said to them, Do not grumble amongst yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the prophets, and they shall all be taught of God. Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God. He has seen the Father. Truly, truly I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the mana in the wilderness and they died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread he will live forever, and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh. Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? So Jesus said to them, Truly, truly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day, for my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread which came down out of heaven, not as the fathers ate and died, he who eats this bread will live forever. Wow. Brothers and sisters, give me a moment and I shall try and break this down the best I can. So here we have in the first bit the words of uh the words to the Jews. Therefore the Jews were grumbling about him because he said, I am the bread that came out down out of heaven. Then they were saying, Is not this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, I have come down out of heaven? You see, the grumbling's real here. Um they're they're sort of rejecting what Jesus is saying, and just as Satan does, and I believe, you know, the Satan will use it a minute, Satan accuses, you know, you're trying to do better in your life as a Christian man or woman. You've come away from certain things that kept you chained, and you've been freed from these bondages by the grace of Jesus Christ, and all of a sudden you get people from the past saying, Aren't you that person who did this that time ago? Aren't you the same man that did this and did that? We know who your mother and father is. How is it that you say that you believe in Christ now? I'll put it to you, brothers and sisters, truly. If Jesus can take mercy and pity on this man, this wretched man that I am, Jesus can save many, many people. I'll tell you now. But here we see a rejection right here, and they're trying to almost mock Jesus. And Jesus again, he just doubles down. Jesus answered, Do not grumble amongst yourselves, no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day. Brothers and sisters, when you go out preaching the word of God and you talk to your friends about Jesus, and you know, just bear in mind that God has sent these people to you to hear about his word. And right there in that passage is a reminder of that. It is written in the prophets, and they shall be taught of God. Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me. The prophets spoke of Jesus in the Old Testament. All those that believe in Jesus have believed what the prophets have said about him. Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God, he has seen the Father. Truly, truly I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh. Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? And what does Jesus say? Does he does he care off and think, Oh no, you know, I'm I've slipped up here, I shouldn't have said that. No. Again it doubles down. Jesus keeps doubling down when it gets hard. Well, not hard to us, but you know, the this question for me, after if I've said something so profound, and how can you come back from that? You know, but Jesus again, like I said, he doubles down. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread which came down out of heaven, not as the fathers ate and died, he who eats this bread will live forever. Let's just break that down, because it does sound um a little bit off when you first come to those verses. But as as as we see, the crowd takes Jesus literally and asks really in disgust how can this man give us his flesh to eat unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. The meaning Jesus is using deep challenging metaphors. Christian's traditions Christian traditions view this shocking language in two primary ways one spiritual faith. Eating and drinking mean believing and fully consuming Jesus into your heart, just as physical food must be swallowed and digested to give life, a believer must fully internalize Jesus' sacrifice on the cross through faith. And when we say internalise, you know, I in he and he in me, and then you've got the sacramental communion, uh, which which we do once a month, we do this out of remembrance to him, and Paul writes it beautifully in one Corinthians chapter eleven, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me. In the same way, he took the cup also after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this as often as you drink it in remembrance of me. So Jesus telling the crowd that faith cannot just be casual or superficial, just as eating food sustains your physical body. You must completely consume, completely trust, and completely rely on Jesus' sacrifice to sustain your eternal soul. And that is proper food for thought, wouldn't you think? Now, let us press on. But we'll press on verse fifty nine words to the disciples These things he said in the synagogue as he taught in Capernaum. Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said This is a difficult statement. Who can listen to it? But Jesus, conscious that his disciples grumbled at this, said to them Does this cause you to stumble? What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing, the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray him. And he was saying, For this reason I have said to you that no one can come to me unless it has been granted him from the Father. You see, Jesus right here is he's summing up to the apostles, you know, they're saying this is a difficult statement, who can listen to it? And Jesus, conscious that his disciples grumbled at this, said to him, You know, does this cause you to stumble? What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? Where was Jesus before? Well, it was at the right hand of God, he was in in the beginning with God, he was the word that was made flesh. It is the spirit who gives life, the flesh profits nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. And that's very true. If he is the word of God, he breathed life into all that we see today. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray him. Jesus knows that today. Jesus knows our heart, search my heart, O Lord, and remove anything in it that is untoward you. And that shall be our daily prayer. Every day we wake up, remove anger from it, remove malice if you suffer with those things. Remove lust if you suffer with those things. God knows us, God knows our hearts. He has done from the beginning, it says For this reason I have said to you that no one can come to me unless it has been granted him from the Father. Give thanks to the Lord that we freely go to Jesus, he does not reject us. And lastly, to end this chapter, and thank you guys for for sticking in there. This has been this has been the longest the longest of the series at the moment. Um so yeah, the the last bit, verse sixty six. Peter's confession of faith, as a result of this, many of his disciples withdrew and were not walking with him any more. So Jesus said to the twelve, You do not want to go away also, do you? Simon Peter answered him, Lord to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. We have believed and have come to know that you are the holy one of God. Jesus answered them, Did I myself not choose you the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil? Now you meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray him, and that there we shall leave on that cliffhanger. But let's just let's just break that down. You do not want to go away, also do you? You see, these people having learned of eternal life, having witnessed the miracles of Jesus, you know, a lot of them still didn't believe who he was. And he begs the question to the disciples. Simon Pete answers so beautifully, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life, brothers and sisters. Learn from Paul, Peter, learn from him, because look, look what he said. You have words of eternal life. We need to hold on to that fact, you know, without Jesus, without my Lord and Saviour, what has my life become? I I am truly nothing without him. The strength I have to continue to do these chapters are only from him. The fact that I wake up every single day and graft and go to work is by his strength alone, you know, and I'll try and do it as cheerful as I can. Um most days I'm I'm not so cheerful hearted, but you know that that's the wrestle we have in life, unfortunately. But right here, did I myself not choose you the twelve? Has Jesus not chosen you today to listen, to follow, to put your trust on him, and your trust will never ever be misplaced should you choose him today. In this house, on this day, I will choose to serve the Lord our God, hallelujah. This has been a long chapter, and I've tried to break it down as best and as simplicity as I could, and I hope I've done God's word justice with this chapter. It's been a huge chapter.
